Celebrating HERitage: The 12th Annual Women’s Empowerment Conference
On Saturday, March 8, 2025, the Jamaican Women of Florida (JWOF) will host its 12th Annual Women’s Empowerment Conference at the luxurious Marriott Harbor Beach Hotel in Fort Lauderdale. This year’s event is particularly special as it coincides with International Women’s Day, a global celebration of women’s achievements and contributions. Under the inspiring theme “HERitage: Celebrating the Jamaican Woman,” the conference promises to be a powerful gathering of voices, stories, and aspirations.
A Star-Studded Lineup of Speakers

Among them is Vice Admiral Antonette Wemyss-Gorman, the first woman to serve as Chief of Defence Staff of the Jamaica Defence Force.
