Jamaican Kitchen Makes a Flavorful Comeback in Andover
A beloved Caribbean eatery has returned to Andover’s vibrant food scene, with Jamaican Kitchen officially relaunching at SP Bar. The excitement was palpable as the community gathered to celebrate this culinary revival on Saturday, September 20th.
A Warm Welcome
Guests were greeted with the rich, authentic flavors of Jamaica, complemented by a diverse selection of drinks from SP Bar. The evening kicked off with a symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Cllr Iris Andersen. She expressed her delight, saying, “I had the pleasure of going to the Jamaican Kitchen on Saturday evening, and it was a great honor to taste the Jamaican food they are cooking. I wish them both well with their business.”
A Culinary Journey
Omar Coleman, the heart and soul behind Jamaican Kitchen, was born in Jamaica and learned the art of cooking from his mother, a former restaurant owner. For Omar, this relaunch is not just a business milestone; it’s a proud moment filled with cultural significance. “We had the great pleasure of celebrating the relaunch of our Jamaican Kitchen,” he shared. “All of our food is freshly prepared and cooked by myself and an experienced Jamaican chef, ensuring the most authentic taste of the Caribbean right here in Andover.”
Omar emphasized their commitment to quality, stating, “We’re dedicated to using only fresh, authentic ingredients, offering generous portions at affordable prices—because good food should leave you satisfied, not hungry.”
