NTT Global Destinations CEO Wraps Up Caribbean Engagement Tour
Elizabeth Agboola, the dynamic CEO of NTT Global Destinations, has just wrapped up an impactful tour across the Caribbean, visiting Jamaica and Guyana. This journey wasn’t just a casual trip; it was a strategic mission aimed at strengthening ties between Africa and the Caribbean, two regions rich in culture and potential.
Building Bridges Across Oceans
Agboola’s visit was all about creating partnerships in various sectors, including tourism, trade, financial services, fintech, and the creative industries. “This mission is about creating access, visibility, and value for Africa and the Caribbean alike,” she stated. Her goal? To reinforce NTT Global’s commitment to African-Caribbean integration, a vision that has been in motion since the company made history with the first-ever direct charter flight from Nigeria to Jamaica in December 2020.
During her tour, Agboola engaged in discussions with airline executives, tourism boards, and government leaders to explore the possibility of establishing a sustainable, twice-weekly direct air route between Nigeria and Jamaica. The enthusiasm from partners aligned with Afreximbank indicates that this route could soon become a reality, opening doors for travel and trade.
A Taste of Jamaica
In Jamaica, Agboola participated in EXPO Jamaica 2025, where she explored exciting collaborations, including a unique blend of Jamaican castor oil and African shea butter. This fusion not only highlights the beauty of both cultures but also showcases the potential for innovative products that can thrive in the global market.
She also attended the 70th Anniversary celebrations of the Jamaica Tourist Board, where she met with influential figures in the tourism sector. A notable moment was her working lunch with the Honourable Earl Jarrett, CEO of JN Bank. They discussed synergies in financial services and how these can enhance tourism and aviation, paving the way for a more interconnected future.
Discovering Guyana’s Wonders
The tour concluded in Guyana, where Agboola was hosted by the Guyana Tourism Authority (GTA) for a familiarization tour. She experienced the breathtaking beauty of the Essequibo River and the majestic Kaieteur Falls, which many only dream of visiting. “Guyana has immense potential as a nature and adventure destination,” Agboola remarked, highlighting the country’s rich natural resources and tourism opportunities.
While in Guyana, she held high-level meetings with tourism officials and regional representatives to discuss joint initiatives and market expansion strategies. These conversations are crucial for NTT Global’s mission to be the leading connector between Africa and CARICOM nations in travel, trade, and cultural exchange.
A Vision for the Future
Agboola’s efforts align with Afreximbank’s recognition of the African diaspora as the sixth region of the continent, emphasizing the importance of global integration and shared prosperity. With CARICOM nations increasingly partnering with Afreximbank, the groundwork for long-term collaboration is being laid.
As Jamaica prepares to take on the CARICOM Chairmanship in July 2025 and gears up for the first CARICOM-AU Summit in September 2025, NTT Global’s leadership is poised to play a pivotal role in shaping a more interconnected future.
In a world where connections matter more than ever, Agboola’s mission is clear: it’s about building infrastructure, closing deals, and turning bold ideas into sustainable realities. What exciting collaborations might we see next between these vibrant regions?
